Apologies for not updating for the last one week. I have been extremely busy trying to do a few more stories before i leave. Furthermore, i'm also kept busy chasing my Editor to publish the stories i've written. That's quite a tiring activity in itself!
Nonetheless, in the last week, the only special thing i did was to visit a Tibetan colony somewhere near Vidhan Sabha here in Delhi. It was as though i stepped into a whole different country. The Dalai Lama's framed picture was proudly hung in every single shop. Tibetan instrumental music was played softly throughout the colony. You see monks walking in robes. Shops selling all things Tibetan - from carpets with Tibetan-influenced designs, jewelry, handicrafts and etc. Tonnes of Tibetan restaurants and of course, travel agents who'd take you to Tibet for low cost!
Over the course of today and tomorrow, I will be visiting more slums to do profiles of 5 slum children who have made it to Delhi University. It's a human interest story, focusing on the success of these kids. It's pretty amazing to get so far with the conditions they had to endure.
I have 3 articles published so far. And i'm still awaiting 2 more - an opinion piece i wrote on anti-corruption measures; and a piece on the spectrum of protests Jantar Mantar (a notorious protest space in Delhi) has seen in a span of a week. You see, the catch is that I have to chase him to publish them cos i submitted these stories weeks ago!!!!!
I'm left with only a few days here. I'll be leaving this Saturday evening. I have enough money to do a little more shopping! That's what i'll do this week in my free time!
